1. Our commitment
D&J Property Co respects your privacy and is committed to handling personal information responsibly. This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, store and protect personal information when you use our website, contact us or engage with our services.
2. Information we collect
Depending on your interaction with D&J, we may collect:
- your name, email address, telephone number and contact preferences;
- property, investment, suburb and service-interest information;
- whether you are an existing D&J client or referral partner;
- details included in an enquiry, appraisal request or other communication;
- marketing and SMS consent preferences; and
- technical information such as IP address, browser, device, pages visited and website interactions.
Please do not include sensitive personal information in a website enquiry unless it is necessary and we have asked you to provide it.
3. How we collect information
We generally collect information directly from you through our website forms, telephone calls, email, SMS, WhatsApp, meetings and service interactions. We may also receive information from an authorised representative, a referral partner, publicly available sources or our technology providers.
4. Why we use your information
We may use personal information to:
- respond to enquiries and provide requested information or services;
- provide property management, buyer advocacy and related property services;
- connect you with a trusted finance or professional referral partner where requested;
- manage client relationships, records, appointments and follow-up activities;
- improve our website, services, reporting and client experience;
- send marketing where you have consented or where otherwise permitted, with an option to opt out; and
- meet legal, regulatory, risk-management and security obligations.
5. Who we may share information with
We may disclose relevant information to D&J personnel, contractors, property-service providers, professional advisers and technology providers that support our operations. These include HubSpot for CRM and website enquiries, Google and Meta where optional advertising tracking is accepted, and website hosting and communications providers.
If you ask us for assistance with finance or another partner service, we may share relevant details with an appropriate trusted partner. Finance services are provided by appropriately licensed third parties, not by D&J unless expressly stated otherwise. We do not sell personal information.
6. Overseas processing
Some technology providers may process or store information outside Australia. The countries involved can change as provider systems and infrastructure change. We take reasonable steps to select reputable providers and protect information handled on our behalf.
7. Cookies and tracking technologies
Essential technologies support website operation, security and form functionality. They cannot always be disabled through our website.
With your permission, we use Google Ads measurement, HubSpot analytics and the Meta Pixel to record page views and successful website enquiries, measure advertising performance and help present more relevant advertising. Google and Meta may combine this information with information they already hold under their own privacy terms. Google Ads may load in consent mode with storage denied so it can receive limited, cookieless measurement signals; optional advertising and analytics cookies are not enabled unless you accept them.
You can accept or reject optional cookies in the website notice and change your selection later using the “Cookie settings” button. You may also control cookies through your browser, although this may affect some website functions.
8. Security and retention
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. We retain information only for as long as reasonably required for our business, legal and record-keeping purposes, then securely delete or de-identify it where appropriate.
9. Access, correction and marketing choices
You may ask to access or correct personal information we hold about you. You can also ask us to stop direct marketing at any time, without charge, by using an unsubscribe option or contacting us. We may need to verify your identity before actioning an access or correction request.
10. Questions and complaints
Contact D&J if you have a privacy question, request or complaint. We will acknowledge and investigate privacy complaints and aim to respond within a reasonable time. If you are not satisfied, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
11. Updates to this policy
We may update this policy when our services, technology or legal obligations change. The current version will be published on this page.
